It’s been a long time since I featured a dance piece that was created to be filmed. Maybe that’s why I woke up this morning with a craving to dive back into the wonderful world of dance films. It’s a weird craving to have, I know. And no Mom, I’m not pregnant. I just wanted to watch a dance piece that was created specifically for the medium of film. Which is how I landed on Clouds by Shim Abrio. A beautiful, highly stylized dance piece that takes full advantage of the fact that it’s being filmed to accentuate the choreography and dancers. No surprise here, but I loved it.
I hope you enjoy this departure from my usual Friday night song. I’m sure the music will be back next week, but in the meantime, I hope you literally dance your way into the weekend.
