Daily Helping for January 6th, 2021 – VOCES8 – Star

Challenge 1, Dance, Film, Music

A close up photo of the face of dancer Imogen McManus from the video Star by VOCES8.

Today’s helping is yet another recommendation, and it was billed as a three for one. A choral piece, dance number, and short film. And it’s beautiful. From the soaring voices to the gorgeous cinematography to the wonderfully fluid movements. Everything is beautiful. It’s also a wonderful example of what can happen when artists from multiple disciplines come together to collaborate. They often end up producing something extraordinary. This video may have been produced by British choral group VOCES8, but there are so many other artists at work. Dancer Imogen McManus. Creative Director and Choreographer Rianne White. Directors of Photography Richard O’Hare & Jordan Templar Clarke. Composer Eriks Esenvalds. So many people coming together to create something beautiful. And chalk. We can’t forget the chalk. I love it.

Suggestions for artists I should check out? Please contact me with your ideas. I hope you enjoyed your daily helping of art!
