Today’s daily helping is another animated short film that while short on the laughs like Monday, still packs a powerful emotional punch in under three minutes. Swallowtail by Jennifer Shi tells the story of a bride escaping from an arranged marriage, and it has a lot to say about the beauty of being your authentic self and the power of helping others.
YouTube has been sending me a lot of these animated shorts lately, and they all seem to be coming from students and recent graduates of animation programs. If this is the level of talent out there, the future of animation is in good hands.
