Daily Helping for August 19th, 2021 – Raghvendra Chauhan – Fire Art

A close up photo of an artwork by Raghvendra Chauhan. The piece is a bust of a woman, looking over her side from behind. Two hands hold a candle to the glass surface of the artwork.

I must admit, after Monday’s daily helping, I can’t stop thinking about fire art. So for today, I decided to go on another search to see what else was out there. Which is how I landed on this video by Raghvendra Chauhan. Once again, the smoke from a flame is being used to create a base, this time on glass instead of canvas. But instead of then adding paint, Chauhan uses a variety of tools to scratch away at the material left behind in order to create the image. And it’s stunningly beautiful. I don’t think I will ever stop being amazed at the creativity and ingenuity of artists.
