Full disclosure. I clicked on this video solely because of the title of the band. I mean, come on. Hurray for the Riff Raff is simply an excellent name. Really, truly wonderful. I had no idea what kind of music they played or what type of a song I was in for, but I was in based on their name alone. Thankfully, not only is their name great, but their music is pretty darn awesome as well.
I also loved the simplicity of the video for this particular song. It’s basically just a bunch of people dancing together, but it’s clear that there are a wide range of identities all dancing alongside one another in a safe space. There’s something just simply lovely about that. “Hungry Ghost” may be on the more chill side as a dance song, but everyone is clearly enjoying themselves.
So yes. Great music. Great name. Hurray for the Riff Raff indeed.
