Today I was in the mood for another dance film, and Devoted certainly delivered on that. However, of all the dance films that I’ve featured so far, this one definitely left me the most conflicted. Conflicted, because the music and dancing is beautiful. All three dancers are fantastic, and I love the simple and elegant way it’s filmed. That being said, I can’t stand the sound of a baby crying, so even though I knew what this piece was trying to convey, it made me cringe every time that sound interrupted the music. So yeah. Definitely conflicted on this one, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
