Today’s helping is a very direct recommendation. I was out for a walk with a friend, and I was telling her about my newfound affinity for dance. “You’ve heard of Ballet Revolucion, right?” she immediately asked me. The answer, unfortunately, was no. So right then and there she pulled up a video on her phone. Needless to say, I knew I had found my next Daily Hart.
Ballet Revolucion is a Cuban dance troupe that blends ballet with contemporary street dance. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a good quality video of a full number of theirs. This video was the closest I could get. That being said, what is available online is spectacular. It’s incredible how seamlessly they manage to blend together two seemingly disparate dance styles, and the energy they bring to each piece is amazing. I know I keep saying this, but I’m counting down the days until performance venues are open once more. These dancers really deserve to be seen in person.
