Daily Helping for October 13th, 2020 – Aida Tlish

A photo of a painting by Aida Tlish, titled Venezia con cuor di leonessa.

Have you ever been walking down the street, spot a painting out of the corner of your eye, and just have to stop and take a look? No? Just me then? Well, if that has happened to you before, all I can say is that I hope you looked both ways before suddenly darting across the street. Otherwise you might get honked at. A lot.

Angry drivers aside, it was worth it to take a moment to stop in front of this window and this artwork by Aida Tlish. I don’t know if it was the vivid colours or the fact that the scene includes a canal (yes I love canals and no I don’t know why), but there was something about this painting that made me have to stop and take it all in. Something that made me smile and give thanks for the artist who took the time to create it. One day I hope to have a home that’s big enough to display artwork like this, but for now I’ll just be content on the outside looking in.
