Yesterday’s helping was a chill song that made me want to dance. Today’s helping by Stromae is a ridiculously infectious song that will probably have me dancing for the rest of the summer. To be fair, it starts out chill. But only for about 20 seconds. By the time the dancing starts at 50 seconds, I was hooked.
I’m also kind of obsessed with this music video. I can’t remember the last time I saw something that was both visually fascinating and incredibly unsettling. Stromae does such a good job playing a mannequin (at least, I think that’s what’s going on) that by the time he actually starts moving near the end, it’s almost creepy. But in a good way? Let’s just say this video gave me a lot of feels.
Normally I would wait for Friday to feature a song like this, but I stumbled upon “Papaoutai” this morning, and it was so addictive I couldn’t wait. But it’s also August, so it’s the perfect month to start the weekend early. Now if you will excuse me, I’m off to go dance the day away…
