Daily Helping for November 23rd, 2020 – Sho Madjozi – John Cena

A photo still of singer Sho Madjozi singing into a mic from the video for John Cena.

Here is something absolutely delightful to brighten your Monday morning. Sho Madjozi is a South African singer, rapper, songwriter, and poet. Last year, she released a song about American actor and professional wrestler John Cena, and it quickly went viral. Because of course it did. The song is ridiculously catchy, with lyrics in English, Tsonga, and Swahili. But the video is equally wonderful. There’s just so much joy and happiness in her performance. It’s clear that this is a woman doing what she truly loves, and it is beautiful to watch.

Now that you’ve gotten that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day (sorry, not sorry), I have another absolutely delightful video for you. In November, Sho Madjozi was a guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show, and she was a radiant ball of positive energy. She was asked to perform the song, and spoiler alert, she was surprised by the actual John Cena coming out to dance alongside her halfway through. Let’s just say her reaction to coming face to face with her idol is priceless. In fact, I’d say it was akin to getting a shot of sunshine straight into my veins. I can’t stop smiling every time I watch it.

So Happy Monday everyone. Enjoy this infectious ode to John Cena, and delight in watching someone’s dreams come true.
