Daily Helping for November 30th, 2022 – Phare Circus

I recently attended a performance by Phare Circus in Cambodia. This extraordinary circus troupe is composed of students and graduates of the Phare Ponleu Selpakā€™s vocational training center, which provides education and skills training to Cambodia’s disadvantaged youth. The performers and circus artists were all incredible, and their costumes were beautiful. In fact, I was so distracted by what I was seeing onstage, I failed to take a single photo of the performance.

However, after the show was over, a painting was left propped up on the stage. It had been created live during the performance, adding yet another layer of talent to this group of artists. I stared at the painting for quite some time, wondering how something so beautiful could have been created in just a mere 25 minutes. Some people are just too talented.

If you find yourself in Siem Reap in the future, I highly recommend that you check out Phare Circus. It will be an experience you will not soon forget.
