Daily Helping for August 13th, 2023 – Oswaldo Guayasamin – Tears of Blood

And now we’re all caught up! It only took three daily helpings in one day, but we’re finally back on track. I also want to take this moment to reassure anyone who’s wondering that no, the title of this painting, “Tears of Blood”, is not some sort of hidden message. Yes, the past couple of weeks have been exhaustingly busy. But it has been a good busyness. The kind where I don’t mind being so sleep deprived because I’m loving every minute of it. So rest assured that today’s daily helping was chosen solely because I really love the work of Oswaldo Guayasamin. According to Google, he’s one of Ecuador’s foremost artists, and I can see why. His work is hauntingly beautiful, and not at all a representation of my current frame of mind.

Happy Sunday all!
