It’s Friday, and I am most definitely in the mood for some laughs. Netflix has been suggesting In Trouble by Katherine Ryan for a while now, so I finally decided to take the plunge and hit play. Thankfully, there were laughs aplenty. They also happened to be laughs that came from the most unlikely of places. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comedian who can find the funny in topics that practically scream, “This is not funny!” And yet she did, time and time again. There was one joke in particular that made me almost choke on my drink because it was so ballsy, and no, I’m not going to say what it is. Let’s just say you’ll know it when you hear it.
Katherine Ryan also happens to be Canadian, and when she said that she was from the worst part of Canada, I knew exactly where she was talking about. Let’s just say I laughed hysterically during her extended bit about Sarnia. Yes, it really is the armpit of Canada.
