A photography by David Uzochukwu. It shows a woman looking directly into the camera, her hands are held just below her face. Her hair is black smoke above her.

Daily Helping for July 23rd, 2023 – David Uzochukwu – Wildfire

It’s your second daily helping today, because due to reasons, yesterday’s post did not go out until earlier today. Sometimes life just gets in the way. But sometimes life also sends you artists who quite literally take your breath away. That’s what happened when I discovered the photography of David Uzochukwu. His work is stunningly beautiful, radiantly empowering, and at times, unearthly surreal. And I love all of it. So much so that I spent a not significant amount of time pouring through his works, trying to decide on a favourite. Turns out, that’s an impossible task. But I am particularly drawn to Wildfire, the piece above, because I love the combination of the power of the subject’s gaze and the serenity of the smoke. But all of David Uzochukwu’s pieces are just as beautiful, and I could stare at them for hours.
