I couldn’t tell you why, but today I had a hankering to watch some swing dancing, and as a result, I somehow landed on this video by the dance company JazzMAD. I say somehow, because the Charleston is not swing dancing. At least, that’s what Google tells me. While the Charleston has ties to swing dancing, it is its own separate category of dance. And semantics aside, it certainly wasn’t what I had in mind when I went looking for swing dancing this morning. But somehow I landed here, and it was absolutely delightful. This number is fun, energetic, and catchy as hell. And it somehow manages to feel both classic and modern at the same time. In short, it was exactly what I wanted first thing on a Sunday morning.
