Daily Helping for February 6th, 2021 – Drisya Reghuram – Nainowale Ne

A close up photo still of dancer Drisya Reghuram mid-performance of the piece Nainowale Ne.

Once again, I’m absolutely loving the fact that YouTube’s algorithm keeps sending me beautiful dance numbers. Today’s helping comes from dancer Drisya Reghuram, and her beautiful interpretation of “Nainowale Ne” from the Bollywood film Padmaavat.

There was a lot that I loved about this piece, but what struck me the most was the beautiful fluidity in the way Reghuram moves. It’s graceful but precise, and when combined with singer Neeti Mohan’s gorgeous voice, there’s an ethereal quality to the performance that is simply lovely.

That being said, I will admit to having to watch this video twice. The setting is gorgeous, but the first time I watched it, I kept worrying that Drisya Reghuram would fall over the edge and into the water. The rational part of my brain kept telling me to stop worrying. They wouldn’t have posted the video if that was the case. But still, she gets awfully close a number of times. In the end, be assured that all is well. You can watch without worry, and just enjoy the beautiful dancing, music, and locale.
